NASHVILLE — While his teammates enjoyed some time off with a bye week, Juuse Saros kept working. It paid off for the Predators on Tuesday night.

NASHVILLE — Juuse Saros made 43 saves, Kevin Fiala scored eight minutes into the third period and the Nashville Predators beat the Vegas Golden Knights 1-0 on Tuesday night. Nashville played its first game in a week and has won three straight.

DETROIT — Jason Spezza made the most of an opportunity to play a day after getting benched. Spezza scored two tiebreaking goals on power plays to help the Dallas Stars beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-2 on Tuesday night.

NEW YORK — Nearly three weeks after the Devils' last victory, Damon Severson didn't want to say his team was getting desperate. He did acknowledge they needed a win.

NASHVILLE — The Nashville Predators have placed forward Viktor Arvidsson on injured reserve with a lower-body injury and recalled forward Frederick Gaudreau from the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals. The Predators made the move Tuesday afternoon.

BROSSARD, Que. — Jacob De La Rose, who has only five goals in 89 career NHL games, is getting a chance to show what he can do with the Montreal Canadiens.

ST. LOUIS — Mike Shanahan, who owned the St. Louis Blues from 1986-91 and oversaw the acquisition of Hall of Famer Brett Hull, has died. He was 78. Blues Chairman Tom Stillman confirmed Shanahan's death Monday night in a statement.

MONTREAL — John Tavares got a second chance in overtime and made the most of it.
