OTTAWA — The Ottawa Senators finally have some confidence and it's paying dividends. Ryan Dzingel scored twice and Mark Stone had a goal and two assists Saturday night the Senators knocked off the league-leading Tampa Bay Lightning 6-3.

TORONTO — The Vancouver Canucks' injury woes continued Saturday night but coach Travis Green still liked what he saw in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

DETROIT — Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard will miss Detroit's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday night with a lower-body injury. Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill confirmed Saturday that Howard hurt himself in Friday night's win over Florida .

DALLAS — Stars coach Ken Hitchcock played a hunch early Saturday, and it paid off quickly.

PHILADELPHIA — A couple of hours before his first game back in Philadelphia, Brayden Schenn thought the biggest trash-talking ex-teammate would be Claude Giroux. "He's pretty witty out there," Schenn said. "We'll see what he comes up with.

WINNIPEG — Bryan Little is impressed by what Winnipeg Jets captain Blake Wheeler is doing these days. Wheeler moved to centre from right wing Dec. 27 when Mark Scheifele was injured. In four full games since then, the captain has fired in five goals.

DETROIT — Although the Detroit Red Wings are on their longest winning streak of the season, they've allowed quite a few shots on goal over these past four games. Jimmy Howard has turned aside enough of them.
