A coalition of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma environmental and conservation groups has sent a survey to candidates in the local riding to learn their positions on key environmental issues affecting the community, economy, population, and natural resources."
The coalition includes Sault Climate Hub, Clean North, and The Kensington Conservancy. These groups represent several thousand concerned citizens through memberships and followers in Sault Ste. Marie and throughout Algoma.
The survey was sent by email to each candidate on April 7 with an April 17 deadline. The results will be made available to the public through social media, websites, and local news outlets by April 21.
The coalition encourages voters to ask candidates about their positions on key environmental issues affecting our region such as climate change; air and water pollution; recycling; plastic waste management.”
