Saultites are being offered a last minute chance to meet the local candidates for the upcoming federal election.
The Sault Ste. Marie Public Library will be hosting a “Meet and Greet Your Candidates” event on Thursday, April 24 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the James L. McIntyre Centennial branch.
Confirmed candidates are:
- James Collins – Christian Heritage Party of Canada
- Robyn Eshkibok – Green Party of Canada
- Laura Mayer – New Democratic Party
- Terry Sheehan – Liberal Party of Canada
Conservative candidate Hugh Stevenson is not yet on the list of participants, however the library says all candidates have been invited.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to submit their questions in advance, either in-person at the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library or via this form.
“Due to time constraints, all questions must be pre-submitted using the form or in-person,” said the library in a news release. “Submitted questions will not be edited but will be grouped based on topic.”
“If the number of questions exceeds the available time, questions in each topic area will be drawn at random on the night of the event.”
Election Day is Monday, April 28.
Advance polls run from Friday to Monday.
Voters can also cast their ballots at any Elections Canada office before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22.
