Update:
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced $130 million in funding for northern communities, with $72.6 million earmarked for healthcare systems and community preparedness in Yukon, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.
Trudeau also announced new federal measures that would see asymptomatic travellers returning to Canada quarantined in a hotel for the mandatory 14-day isolation period if they do not have a 'credible' quarantine plan in place upon arrival.
The new measures for travellers goes into effect at midnight.
The prime minister also used Tuesday's daily address to announce that the federal government will distribute 1.1 million new N95 masks to provinces and territories in the coming days.
Shipments of gloves and gowns will also be distributed to provinces and territories beginning Monday.
A $20 million cash infusion was also annnounced for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, in an effort deploy more food inspectors across the country.
