Peel Regional Police, Ontario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and emergency crews are on the scene at Toronto Pearson Airport this morning in response to a police-involved shooting.

The incident occurred outside Terminal 1.

Peel police said an adult man was shot in an "isolated incident" at the airport. His condition is not yet known.

An officer involved in the shooting is reportedly uninjured.

The SIU told TorontoToday there is no threat to public safety.

Travellers to Pearson have been told to expect delays in Terminal 1.

There is currently no access to the terminal's departures area. Pearson Airport said passengers and vehicles are being rerouted to enter and exit through the Terminal 1 arrivals.

Highway 409 around the airport in Mississauga is also closed as police continue to investigate.

The TTC's 900 Airport Express has been detoured to Terminal 3 in reaction to the police presence.
