Sault Ste. Marie Police are investigating a fatal west-end crash that killed a 15-year-old early Sunday morning.
At approximately 1 a.m., officers were called to the scene of a collision between a pickup truck and e-bike in the 800 block of Goulais Avenue.
Paramedics provided lifesaving efforts to two teenagers who were riding on the e-bike, police say. Both were transported to hospital.
A 15-year-old died from their injuries, police say, while the other 15-year-old remains in hospital with serious injuries.
Sault Police say an 18-year-old was driving the pickup truck northbound on Goulais Avenue. When the driver attempted to turn left onto Third Line West, police say the truck struck the e-bike, which was travelling south on Goulais.
The 18-year-old driver was arrested and has been remanded into custody, with the next court appearance scheduled for Tuesday. Police did not disclose what charge the driver is facing.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
