One person is facing several charges after a break and enter at a multi-unit residence building early Saturday.
Sault Ste. Marie Police were called to the 200 block of Northern Avenue East at 3:20 a.m.
Arriving officers spotted the suspect exiting the building.
“A search of the accused located the bear mace and two BB guns resembling handguns,” said police in a news release.
“An investigation revealed the accused had broken into the building by damaging a door and proceeded to kick the doors of several units while inside.”
Jeffery Humphries, 32, is charged with:
- Break and Enter with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
- Carry Concealed Prohibited Device x2
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x4
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x3
- Possession of Prohibited Device
- Possession of Prohibited Device for Dangerous Purpose x3
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
