A cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries on Wednesday evening after a collision with a car near the Metro on Northern Avenue.
A 911 call about the collision came in about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, said Lincoln Louttit, spokesperson for Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
"The collision involved a bicycle and a car," said Louttit. "The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries."
A car with a heavily cracked windshield and a bicycle were removed from the scene on a tow truck bed at about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Louttit said the investigation into the collision is ongoing. SooToday will have more information as it becomes available.
