A 47-year-old faces multiple charges after Sault Police say they found him asleep behind the wheel in a local drive-thru lane.
At around 10:15 p.m. last night, someone phoned 911 to report the sleeping driver in the 0-100 block of Queen Street West.
Sault Police say officers spoke to the driver and he refused to comply with a demand for a breath sample.
Derek Babuik was arrested and charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
- Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled back in court on Oct. 28, 2024.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Babuik is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
