Erratic driving has lead to impaired driving and drug possession charges for a Sault Ste. Marie man.
Police say on Saturday at 12:14 a.m., officers observed a vehicle driving erratically in the area of North Street and Cornwall Street.
In a press release issued today, Sault Police said officers conducted a traffic stop and developed grounds to believe the driver was impaired by drugs.
According to police, the accused refused a Drug Recognition Evaluation. Upon a further search of the area, police report finding the accused to be in possession of a suspected crystal methamphetamine.
As a result, a 35-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving – alcohol and drugs, refusing to comply with a demand and possession of a controlled substance.
He is scheduled to appear in court on April 12, 2021.
