UPDATE: Armed Robbery at the Hard Wok Cafe Yesterday at 4 pm city police arrested 18 year old Jeremy Miller of 368 Cathcart Street at his residence in relation to the robbery at the Hard Wok Café.
UPDATE: Armed Robbery at the Hard Wok Cafe

Yesterday at 4 pm city police arrested 18 year old Jeremy Miller of 368 Cathcart Street at his residence in relation to the robbery at the Hard Wok Café. The accused has been charged with 1 count of robbery and one count of disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.

City Police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred yesterday afternoon just before 3:30pm at the Hard Wok Café. It is believed that a lone male attended at the establishment on the corner of Huron Street and Cathcart Street and demanded money from the female working at the front. The male appeared to be pointing something at her from inside his pocket. It is unknown what was in his pocket at this time, but the female employee believed it was a firearm. The male grabbed an undisclosed amount of money then fled the area on foot heading south bound. The male suspect is described as being in his early 20’s, approximately 5’8 – 5’9 in height with a thin build, and short dark hair. He was wearing a black cotton jacket with a hood over his head, sun glasses and a black bandana covering his face. The incident remains under investigation and no further details are being released at this time. Another Robbery

City Police are investigating a second robbery which occurred at approximately 4am on the 24th of April. In this incident a male was riding his bike up St Georges Avenue hill when he was stopped by a second lone male. The suspect pointed a loaded crossbow at the victim and demanded money from him. The victim refused and began to ride his bike away from the suspect who then fired one arrow at him. The arrow did not strike the victim and he was not injured in this incident. The suspect is described as approximately 20 years old, wearing all black and a black ski mask. Assault & Mischief

A 24 year old male has been charged with 1 count of assault and 1 count of mischief under $5000. It is alleged that just after 2am this morning, the accused male attended at his girlfriend’s east end residence and kicked in a glass door causing it to smash. The accused also pushed the female victim to the ground. Police were called and the accused was arrested. He is scheduled to attend bail court this morning.

Shoplifting from Sears

18 year old Riccardo Policicchio of 1001 Second Line West has been charged with 1 count of theft under $5000 and 1 count of breach of release documents. It is alleged that the accused on the 22nd of April, attended at Sears at the Station Mall and that at approximately 8:30pm the accused selected three items from the men’s wear department. He then exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. The accused was apprehended by store security and held for Police. The accused failed to notify the courts of his change of address and in doing so breach his undertaking. He scheduled for court on June 2nd.

Break & Enter

Police investigated a break and enter which occurred on Village Court between 1pm and 3pm yesterday afternoon. A laptop was taken from this address.

Vandalism

A vehicle which was parked at Bitonti Motors at 95 Second Line East was vandalized when someone keyed the vehicle yesterday.
