The following five persons are to appear in bail court this morning:
Two Persons not to Associate Arrested for Breaching Orders:
37 year-old Ralph Carricato of 9 Arbour Drive was arrested on the 3rd of July at 8:20 pm on Wellington Street West and charged with three counts of breach of release documents and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 31st of July at approximately 8:19 pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service’s Street Team located the accused walking on Wellington Street West in company of a person that he was on conditions not to associate or communicate with and further conditions that he be in his residence 24 hours a day except for employment and education purposes. When officers approached the accused, he attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. When officers were arresting the accused they found him to be in possession of 1.3 grams of marihuana, breaching another condition that he not have any non-prescription drugs in his possession. When officers ran a check on the female, they discovered that she was also on probation and release document conditions not to associate or communicate with the accused Ralph Carricato and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The female, 21 year-old Candace Desjardins of 33 Stevens Street was also charged with two counts of breach of probation and one count of breach of a release document.
Male Driving Stolen Vehicle Arrested for Impaired Driving:
23 year-old James Green of 23 Albert Street East was arrested at 2:40 am this morning on Second Line West and charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of consume over the legal limit, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of breach of a release document, one count of breach of probation and one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 1st of August at 2:30 am the accused was observed by city police driving eastbound on Second Line West at a high rate of speed, crossing the centre line on three occasions and failing to stop for a red light at the intersection of Goulais Avenue. Police stopped the vehicle and discovered that the driver, the accused was under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier from a local bar. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation and a recognizance release order with conditions that he not consume any alcohol and that he keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrants:
22 year-old Andrew Richards of #2-15 Abbott Street was arrested on outstanding warrants at 1:47 am on Gore Street and charged with one count of breach of probation and two counts of fail to appear court. It is alleged that at approximately 1:45 am city police observed the accused walking on Gore Street and when they ran a check on him they discovered that he was wanted on the outstanding warrants.
Male Turns Himself in on Outstanding Warrants:
A 21 year-old male was arrested on the 31st of July at 8:40 pm at the city police station after turning himself in on an outstanding warrant regarding a domestic related incident. He was charged with one count of threaten death or bodily harm.
Property Crimes:
Theft Reported Yesterday:
- Golf clubs and shoes were stolen from a vehicle on Pine Street overnight on the 30th-31st of July.
- A beach bag with a purse, some cosmetics and jewellery was stolen out of a vehicle parked in the Holiday Inn lot sometime overnight on the 30th -31st of July.
- Identification was stolen out of a vehicle on Pleasant Drive.
- Change was stolen out of a vehicle on Wilcox.
- A black Supercycle 21 speed bike was stolen on the 30th of July around 10 pm at White Pines High School.
