Goulais River, Ont.,

A Sault Ste Marie man has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act after he was involved in a collision with a road sander yesterday.

At about 10:00 a.m. yesterday morning the sander, a school bus and the man were all traveling south on Hwy 17 in the Goulais River area. The sander was slowing to make a left turn onto an area side road. The man passed the school bus and as he was starting to pass the sander, the driver of the sand truck made his turn. The sand truck struck the front of the car the man was driving

No one was injured in this collision but the car the man was driving had to be towed from the scene.

Seventy-four-year-old Robert Menard of Sault Ste Marie was charged with improper passing under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
