Four persons to appear in bail court: 1) Yesterday morning city police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and arrested Elliot Southwind, age 27, of no fixed address, on an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that Mr.

1) Yesterday morning city police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and arrested Elliot Southwind, age 27, of no fixed address, on an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that Mr. Southwind failed to appear at the city police station for fingerprints on July 18th.
Mr. Southwind is charged with one count of failing to appear for the purpose of identification.

2) Last evening at approx. 9:15 pm city police arrested a 38-year-old female and charged her with one count of criminal harassment and one count of threatening. It is alleged that between July 22nd and July 23rd the accused called the complainant, her ex-boyfriend 50 to 60 times. The complainant advised her to stop but she refused. It is then alleged that she threatened to have him assaulted.

3) Last night at approx. 8:15 pm city police arrested Richard Nadon, age 50, of 233 Selby Rd. on a warrant. It is alleged that Mr. Nadon failed to appear for court on January 14th 2008 on charges of Driver over 80 mgs and impaired care and control. Mr. Nadon is charged with one count of failing to appear for court.

4) Yesterday morning city police arrested a 33-year-old female and charged her with one count of assault, one count of being unlawfully in a dwelling house and one count of breach of a recognizance. It is alleged that on July 20th 2008 the accused entered the east end residence of her ex-common-law partner and assaulted him by kicking and hitting him about the face and body. It is further alleged that the accused was on a recognizance release order at the time of this incident with conditions that she not communicate with the victim. The victim did not require medical attention.

Male arrested for theft:

Yesterday afternoon city police were called to the Sears Store in the Station Mall regarding a shoplifter. Upon arrival officers arrested 27-year-old Michael Muto, of 485 Douglas St. and charged him with one count of theft under $ 5,000.00. It is alleged that Mr. Muto entered the Sears Store and stole a metal ring valued at approx.
$ 12.00 He will be appearing in court on Aug 25th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for assault:

Yesterday afternoon, at approx. 3:50 pm city police were called to O’Aces Bar on Queen St. E. regarding an assault. Upon arrival officers spoke to the complainant and subsequently arrested a male for assault. It is alleged that Robert Majic, age 35, of 16 Queen St. W. Apt #1 entered the bar in an intoxicated condition and then assaulted a male person in the bar by grabbing him and throwing the male against the wall. It is further alleged that during the incident the accused was yelling and swearing at other patrons. At the time of this occurrence the accused was on probation with conditions that he not consume alcohol and that he keep the peace. Mr. Majic is charged with one count of assault, one count of causing a disturbance and two counts of breach of probation. He will be appearing in court on Sept. 8th at 9:00 am. The victim did not require medical attention. The accused and victim were not known to one another.

Break and enters:

City police were called to investigate two reports of break and enter yesterday.

A residence I the 200 block of Wellington St. W was entered - power tools were stolen.

A residence in the 100 block of Blake Ave was entered- jewellery, money and a play station were taken.

Mischief:

Two vehicles were reported damaged yesterday.
A vehicle parked at the Station Mall was reported scratched.

A window on a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Lorna Dr. was smashed.

Thefts:

A vehicle was entered in the 100 block of Glen Ave - it is unknown at this time what was taken.
Bicycles were reported stolen from the 200 block of McNabb St and the 100 block of Timothy Pl.
