The following persons will appear in bail court this morning:

1) Yesterday morning around 5 am a 15 year old male was arrested and charged with one count of robbery and one count of possession of house breaking tools. It is alleged that the youth entered the Mac’s Store on McNabb Street on the 22 March just before 2 am and robbed the store at knife point. When officers searched the accused they located a screwdriver.

2) Yesterday morning around 5 am a 16 year old male was arrested and charged with one count of robbery. It is alleged that the accused entered the Mac’s Store on McNabb Street brandishing a knife The accused was also charged with one count of assault, two counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, three counts of breach of a release document and one count of personation with intent. When questioned by officers the accused provided a name that was not his own. On further investigation officers determined his correct identification and as a result he was arrested on outstanding warrants.

3) A 52 year old female was arrested overnight and charged with one count of break and enter, one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused attended at her ex-boyfriend’s residence and smashed a window and entrance door, forced her way in and pushed and struggled with the victim. At the time of the offence the accused was on a probation order not to communicate or associate with the victim.

4) A 26 year old male was arrested and charged yesterday afternoon with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 22nd of March the accused assaulted his ex-girlfriend by striking her in the head area, while in an outside area in the City’s east end.

Impaired Driving

Just before 8 pm last evening patrol officers observed a motor vehicle driving the wrong way down Gore Street. The vehicle was stopped and 34 year old Clyde Smart of Kakabeka Falls was arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. He will appear in court on the 30th of April.

Update:
The above impaired driver was involved in a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Albert Street West and Andrew Street. It is alleged that the accused was traveling westbound on Albert Street West the wrong way when his vehicle struck a vehicle traveling southbound on Andrew Street. Both vehicles received moderate damage. A 58- year old female driver in the vehicle that was struck was taken by ambulance to Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.


Assault Charges Laid to Four Males

The four accused are all connected in this same incident.

1) 21 year old Shawn Edwards 0f 1932 Second Line West was arrested on the 22 March and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of attempt to obstruct justice. It is alleged that on the 15th of February the accused assaulted a male by punching him in the face. It is further alleged that between February and March of this year, the accused told three other co-accused to tell the police that another male was responsible for the assault. He will appear in court on the 23rd of April.

2) 19 year old Albert Bourrier of 171 Maple Street was arrested on the 22 March and charged with one count of public mischief and one count of obstruct justice. It is alleged that on the 1st of March the accused falsely accused another male of being responsible for an assault on a male victim. He will appear in court on the 23rd of April.

3) 20 year old Lucas Bugyra of 314 Franklin Street as arrested on the 22 March and charged with one count of public mischief and one count of obstruct justice. It is alleged that on the 1st of March the accused falsely accused another male of being responsible for an assault on a male victim. He will appear in court on the 23rd of April.

4) 22 year old Christopher Kertesz of 314 Franklin Street as arrested on the 22 March and charged with one count of public mischief and one count of obstruct justice. It is alleged that on the 1st of March the accused falsely accused another male of being responsible for an assault on a male victim. He will appear in court on the 23rd of April.
