The following four persons will be appearing in bail court today: 1. A 26-year-old male was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with two counts of assault, two counts of mischief and one count of assault with a weapon.
The following four persons will be appearing in bail court today:

1. A 26-year-old male was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with two counts of assault, two counts of mischief and one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that between March 25th and 26th the accused attended at the east end residence of his girlfriend and while there assaulted her twice- once by pushing her to the floor and jumping on top of her and a second time by elbowing her in the chest and throat. The accused is also alleged to have thrown a cooking pot at the victim-striking her in the face. When the accused left the residence he damaged a table and a door. The victim did not require medical attention.

2. City police arrested a 27-year-old male yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on March 27th at approx.1:45 pm the accused assaulted his common-law partner by throwing her down a flight of stairs. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not attend for medical treatment.

3. At 1:45 am this morning city police attended at a downtown residence regarding a domestic assault. As a result police arrested a 30-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault, two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of threatening. It is alleged that on March 21st the accused made stabbing motions at his girlfriend with a pair of scissors and made threatens to kill her. It is further alleged that on March 27th the accused grabbed his girlfriend by the hair and pushed her down the stairs. The accused then threw a glass jar at the victim striking her in the face. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of these assaults.

4. Yesterday morning city police officers attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and charged one of the inmates with one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused, Jack St. Jules, age 48, while on probation with conditions not to communicate directly or indirectly with a certain person -contacted that person several times through a third party.

Breach of Probation

Last night at approx. 7:20 pm city police officers were called to attend at the Station Mall regarding two unwanted persons in the mall. City police attended and spoke to a male and female. Upon checking the male the officers learned that he was on probation with conditions that he not consume drugs and that he not associate with the female in his company. It is alleged that at the time of the interview the accused was under the influence of drugs. As a result James Bolan, age 18, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with two counts of breach of probation. He will be appearing in court on April 28th at 9:00 am.

Pedestrian Struck By Car

Yesterday morning city police were called to attend at the intersection of Queen St. E. and Lucy Terr. regarding a motor vehicle- pedestrian accident. Investigating officers discovered that a vehicle being driven by a
67-year-old male struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was treated at the Sault Area Hospital. The driver of the vehicle, a GMC pick up truck was charged with failing to yield to pedestrian under the Highway traffic Act.

City police received two reports of mischief overnight.

1) Vehicles parked in the 100 block of Wemyss St and in the 100 block of Balfour St. were reported scratched.

2) A utility trailer was reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Third Line W. The trailer is unique in that it had a workbench mounted to it.
