The following persons will appear in bail court this morning:

Two male youths while at the court house were arrested around 10 am on the 29th of March after assaulting another male youth. It is alleged that the victim was punched and kicked by both youths. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

1) A 17 year-male was charged with one count of assault and two counts of breach of probation. The accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behavior.

2) A 13 year-old male was charged with one count of assault.

Impaired Driving

On the 30th March just after 2 am City Police stopped a vehicle on Goulais Avenue. Upon speaking to the driver it was determined that the accused was impaired by alcohol. A check of the driver revealed that she was a disqualified driver as well as on a probation order to refrain from alcohol consumption. 54 year-old Suelo Marshall of #6 - 524 Goulais Avenue has been charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle while disqualified , one count of breach of a probation order, one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. She will be appearing in bail court this morning.

Assault & Mischief

A 35 year-old male was arrested yesterday afternoon at the City police station just before 4 pm and charged with one count of assault and one count of mischief under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 25th of March the accused assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her and pinning her down. The accused also broke a bedroom window. The incident took place at a west end residence. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. The accused will be appearing in court on the 2nd of May.

Impaired Driving

On the 30th of March just before 4 am 53 year-old Lucie Duplin of #3 - 34 Queen Street East was arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. City police observed a vehicle proceed through a red light at Gloucester Street and then travel the wrong way on Queen Street East. The vehicle was stopped on Queen Street by police and upon speaking to the driver determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The accused will be attending in court on the 7th of May.

Two Youths Charged with Attempted Theft

City police received a call yesterday morning around 11 am regarding two male youths going through vehicles in the parking lots on Foster Drive. Police attended and observed two males matching the descriptions running across Bay Street. The youths were both apprehended and arrested on Queen Street East just after 11 am.

1) A 16 year-old male that was probation with conditions to keep the peace and be on good behaviour was charged with one count of attempt theft and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The accused will appear in court on the 1st of May.

2) A 15 year-old male was charged with one count of attempt theft and one count of theft. The accused is to appear in court on the 9th of May.

Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend

A 38 year-old male was arrested on the 29th of March just before 4 pm and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 28th of March just after 8 the accused assaulted ex-girlfriend by grabbing and pulling her. The incident occurred while the victim was visiting the accused at his downtown residence. The victim did not receive any injuries. The accused is to appear in court on the 16th of May.

One Charged, Two Still Wanted for Assault & Assault with a Weapon

On the 29th of March around 4 pm three males attended in the parking lot of a business on McNabb Street. It is alleged that one of the males entered the business and had a male person known to him come out to the parking lot. Once in the parking lot the three males grabbed and assaulted the victim and swung a bar or a pipe at him. The victim broke free, re -entered the business and called the police. At 7:45 pm City Police located and arrested a 39 year old male at Pine Street and Queen Street east .The two other males are still wanted by the Sault Ste Marie Police for assault. The victim did not require medical attention as a result of the assault. Leonardo Greganti, of 72 White Oak Dr. W. is charged with one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon. He will be appearing in bail court this morning.
