MULTIPLE CHARGES LAID On Saturday the 17th of August, 2002, at 10:30 pm, police officers found Absalom Bluff, age 20 on Willow Avenue walking and talking with another male and in an intoxicated state, carrying a case of beer.

On Saturday the 17th of August, 2002, at 10:30 pm, police officers found Absalom Bluff, age 20 on Willow Avenue walking and talking with another male and in an intoxicated state, carrying a case of beer.

A police records check of Bluff revealed he had been released from custody on a probation order not to associate with the male he was with and not to possess or consume alcohol.

He was charged with these offenses and scheduled to appear in court in the fall of 2002 but failed to do so. On March 6, 2003 at 2:33 pm, patrol officers went to the District Jail and executed three arrest warrants for Bluff for Fail to Appear Court and two counts of Breach of Probation. He will appear in bail court today.


ASSAULT VICTIM CALLS POLICE
At shortly after 2:00 am yesterday, a 21-year-old female called the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service to complain that she was the victim of a domestic assault.

Patrol officers went to her residence in the central area of the city and learned that her 20-year-old male husband had pushed her and thrown pieces of broken glass at her. After the incident the husband left the residence and she contacted police.

Officers located the male suspect on Gran Street at 4:50 am this morning and arrested and charged him with Assault. He will appear in court in early April.


BREAK AND ENTERS
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is investigating three break and enters. At 8:30 am yesterday morning patrol officers were called to Kwik Copy Printing at 485 Queen Street East where thieves damaged the rear door in an attempt to gain entrance to the business.

At 9:40 am, police were advised of a second break in to a business on Queen Street East. Officers went to the Party Palace at 647 Queen Street East for a break and enter investigation.

At 9:50 am, officers returned to 485 Queen St. East where a second business, MITIG Forestry, had been broken into. All three crimes are under investigation and anyone with information on them is asked to contact the City Police Service at 949-6300 or Crime stoppers.


TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
Police investigated 8 motor vehicle collisions yesterday. At 9:07 am Justin Breathat, age 21 of 190 Greenfield Drive was driving his 1991 Chevrolet southbound on John Street and was intending to turn left or east on St. Georges Avenue.

Two pedestrians, a 26-year-old female, Jennifer Pistor of 266 Huron St. and a 2-year-old female that she was carrying, were crossing St. Georges Avenue.

The Pistors were crossing from the south side of the road to the north side in the crosswalk area of the intersection. Breathat did not see the pedestrians and struck them as he made his turn. The Pistors were transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

Breathat has been charged with Fail to Yield to Pedestrian under the Highway Traffic Act. Motorists are reminded March Break is upon us and children will be out of school during the day. Extra care is needed.
