ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON
Yesterday at 8:45 p.m., police arrested Allan Steinfort, age 37, and charged him with assault with a weapon. It is alleged that Steinfort struck a young person in the face with a broom handle. Steinfort will appear in court today. The victim suffered injuries to her cheek.


YOUTH ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT
A 17-year-old male was arrested at 8:00 p.m. yesterday and charged with assault and assault with a weapon. The charges originate with an incident on Saturday, October 12th. It is alleged that he struck a female over the head with a beer bottle and then punched her in the face. The victim suffered bruising, a bump to the head and a black eye. The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date of November 26.


PURSE STOLEN
There was another purse stolen yesterday. A female reports that her purse was stolen from the Canada Post Office on Queen Street. There is no description of the suspect.
