Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are investigating after the front door to a popular live music venue downtown was smashed in Saturday morning.
Loplops owner Stephen Alexander was seen speaking with investigating officers while a Superior Glass employee cleared the busted glass out of the door frame.
“We’ve never had anything like that before,” said Alexander. “I wasn’t really surprised, just because there’s lots of stuff like that going on in the downtown.”
Alexander doesn't believe anything was taken during the incident. “We have an alarm system, so it might have just scared them off,” he said.
The Loplops owner credits the security guards downtown who reported the incident to police.
“That makes me feel a bit better that systems and programs like that are working, which is good,” Alexander said.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
