The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service will have an added presence around Peoples Road today linked to the disappearance of 40-year-old Jake Corbiere, who has been missing for more than a year.
Members of the Emergency Services Unit, including the Canine Unit, detectives with Investigation Services, and the Ontario Provincial Police will be searching the area throughout the day. Police honed in on a property in the 1400 block of Peoples Road this morning, where investigators looked around a vehicle in the front yard and combed the rear of the property.
Corbiere has not been seen or spoken with family or friends since March 12, 2023. He was 39 years old at the time of his disappearance.
Garden River First Nation is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who provides information that leads to locating Corbiere. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sault Police by calling Detective Sergeant Darren Corcoran at 705-949-6300, ext. 387.
