A 24-year-old man faces several weapons charges after brandishing a knife near the intersection of Foster Drive and Bay Street, according to a news release.
On Dec. 5 Sault Ste. Marie Police Patrol Services investigated an incident where a man allegedly approached a vehicle and an altercation occurred involving a knife, the release said.
Officers located a person matching the description provided by the victim. The accused was placed under investigative detention and later arrested after a subsequent search found them to be in possession of a knife.
John Tremblay faces charges of assault with a weapon; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; carrying a concealed weapon; fail to comply with probation order – fail to keep the peace; fail to comply with probation order – do not possess any weapon(s), the release stated.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
