Additional charges were laid Thursday against the man accused in the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old Sault Ste. Marie resident.
Christian Tucci, 26, appeared by video in bail court on Thursday for the reading of five new charges in front of Justice of the Peace Kathleen Bryant.
Originally, Tucci faced six charges in relation to the March 27 shooting death.
Tucci now faces a total of 11 charges, including manslaughter, pointing a firearm, four counts of possessing a firearm when prohibited from doing so, failure to keep the peace, two counts of possessing a firearm without a licence and one count of possessing a restricted firearm without a licence.
None of the allegations have been tested in court, and Tucci is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Tucci was arrested on March 28 after a man was shot and killed at the former New American Pub building on Bay Street. Court documents name the victim as 25-year-old Adam Charlebois.
Tucci remains in custody and will return to court on April 24.
At the time of the shooting, Tucci was under court-ordered restrictions prohibiting him from possessing weapons.
Court documents show Tucci was sentenced for a single count of assault in June 2024 in relation to an Oct. 31, 2023 choking incident.
An additional eight charges against him at that time, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes, among others, were withdrawn to reach that plea before Justice John Condon.
Tucci spent 99 days in pre-sentence custody at the time and was released on time served, with 12 months prohibition. Included with that sentencing was a 10-year probation against possessing weapons.
In a separate 2023 sentencing, Tucci was convicted of one count of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and received time served and was ordered to be under a weapons ban.
In that case, a second charge of possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking was withdrawn.
