A 31-year-old is facing multiple charges, including assaulting and trying to disarm an officer.

Around 1:40 p.m. on April 25, a disturbance in the 200 block of McNabb Street was called in to 911.

Officers responded to the scene and found the accused, who was wanted for breaching a probation order.

Police say the accused was in possession of a knife and, after officers took the weapon, the accused tried to reach for their taser twice.

The accused kicked the inside of the police cruiser door several times, damaging it in the process, and spit at an officer after getting out of the vehicle, police said.

As a result, Joseph Fabiano has been charged with:

  • Assault Peace Officer
  • Disarming Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Mischief – Under $5,000

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
