RIDE PROGRAM On Saturday night and into the early morning hours of Sunday, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service conducted RIDE spot checks at various locations in the city.

On Saturday night and into the early morning hours of Sunday, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service conducted RIDE spot checks at various locations in the city. Officers checked 477 vehicles and conducted 6 roadside screening tests, which resulted in one 12-hour suspension being issued.

At 1:40 am Sunday, a vehicle came up to the RIDE checkpoint and the patrol officers recognized a passenger in the rear of the car as Wesley Hallam, age 20, of 63 Foothill Rd. Hallam was on release conditions with a curfew that he was allegedly violating, along with a condition to abstain from alcohol consumption. He was arrested and charged with two counts of breaching his undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court Oct 7th.
