UPDATE: Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision Yesterday evening, the City Police along with the Ontario Provincial Police, the Sault Ambulance and the Sault Ste Marie Fire Services responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision.
UPDATE: Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

Yesterday evening, the City Police along with the Ontario Provincial Police, the Sault Ambulance and the Sault Ste Marie Fire Services responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision. The collision which occurred just north of 6th Line on Great Northern Road claimed the life of an 18year old female. At this time this incident remains under investigation. The name of the deceased victim is not being released, pending notification of family and friends.

In regards to the above incident, no further information will be released until tomorrow. The investigation is still ongoing and notification of family members is still pending.

19 Year Old Charged with Assault & Breach

A 19 year old male has been charged with 1 count of assault and 1 count of breach of release document. It is believed that the accused while visiting another residence assaulted his girlfriend by pulling her down a flight of stairs, throwing her to the ground then repeatedly assaulting her with his fists. The accused was on conditions to not possess alcohol and was found by police with 3 bottles of wine. The victim in this incident suffered non-life threatening injuries. The accused will be appearing in bail court.

19 Charges for 34 Year Old

A 34 year old male has been charged with 2 count of assault, 16 counts of breach of recognizance and 1 count of mischief under $5000. It is believed that the accused on the 30th of November at 5:50 pm attended at his ex-girlfriends residence and assaulted her by pushing her and threatening to hit her. The accused at the time of the incident was on conditions to abstain from communicating, molest, harass, physically interfere, and remain away from the victim’s residence. The accused left the residence but then returned after 10pm and assaulted the victim by grabbing her and threatening to hit her. The accused then left the residence. On the 1st of December the accused attended at a west end residence, where the victim was staying with friends and smashed a front window attempting to get the victim to come out and speak with him. Police were called and the accused left prior the residence and was located at the victim residence where he was located by police and arrested.

Assault on Common Law Wife

On the 1st of December just after midnight, a 51 year old male assaulted his common-law wife by striking her in the chest with his hand. Police were called and the accused was arrested and charged with 1 count of assault. He is to appear in court on the 14th of January. The victim did not suffer any injuries.
