THREE STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED Officers of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service recovered three stolen vehicles on the weekend. Six arrests were made in regards to the possession of these stolen vehicles.
THREE STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED
Officers of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service recovered three stolen vehicles on the weekend. Six arrests were made in regards to the possession of these stolen vehicles. The accused, all young offenders ranging in age from 12 to 17 years, will all be appearing in Bail Court today.

Two of the arrests were made with the assistance of the Police Canine Unit. These incidents, which took place in different parts of the city, were carried out by two different groups of youths.


ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING, ACCUSED ASSAULTS POLICE
On Friday, January 17th, at 9:05 a.m., Terry Merriam, age 43 of no fixed address, was arrested and charged for Theft Under $ 5000.00, two counts of Assault and Assaulting a Police Officer. All these charges are the result of the accused attempting to steal some merchandise from The Trading Post on Great Northern Road.

As he was leaving the store with the merchandise, he was confronted by store staff whom he assaulted to escape. Police were called and arrested Marriam. Once at the police station, the accused assaulted the arresting officer. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 1:30 PM.


BREAK & ENTER
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is investigating a break and enter in the 400 block of Trunk Road. It is unknown at this time what, if anything, was taken.


SNOWMOBILES STOLEN
Two snow machines were reported stolen yesterday morning. The thefts took place at the rear of a motel in the 300 block of Great Northern Road. Stolen were two 2003 Polaris snow machines with Indiana registrations.
