VEHICLE STOLEN On Friday evening City Police Services were called to the Blockbuster Video Store at 480 Pim St. , regarding a stolen vehicle.
VEHICLE STOLEN

On Friday evening City Police Services were called to the Blockbuster Video Store at 480 Pim St. , regarding a stolen vehicle. Officers spoke to the complainant who advised that they had left their keys in the car while they went into the store to rent a video.

Upon returning the car was gone. At approx. 12:35 am Saturday morning police located the stolen vehicle in the Sherwood Park area of town. With the assistance of the Police Canine Unit, two young persons were arrested and charged with Theft Over $ 5,000.00 and Possession of Stolen Property. They are scheduled to appear in court on March 30th.

ATTEMPTED BREAKIN

In other news there was an attempted break and enter to the JBC Variety Store located at 143 Gore St. on Saturday morning. The suspects broke the front store window but did not gain entry. It is believed that the alarm may have frightened the culprits off.

DUMPSTER FIRE

Early this morning, approx. 5:40 AM City Police and Fire Services were called to the rear of a business in the south east corner of Queen St. E. and East St. in regards to a dumpster fire. Police are investigating the possibility that the fire may have been intentionally set.

SUSPICIOUS PEOPLE IN MANITOU PARK

Residents in the Manitou Park area are advised to report any suspicious persons loitering on their streets. There were several reports of persons entering vehicles in that part of town over the weekend.

SUNDAY BREAK & ENTER

On Sunday evening City Police were called to an address in the 100 block of Vera Ave. in regards to a break and enter in progress. Upon arrival police officers located two males inside the residence. Arrested and charged with: Break and Enter, Possession of Marihuana, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Weapon While Prohibited and Breach of Probation is Kevin Douglas Sim, 24, of 49 Vera Ave. Mr. Sim will be attending Bail court today at 10:00 AM.

Also charged with Break and Enter is co-accused Adam Warren. Mr. Warren, 24 of 615 Placid Ave. Mr. Warren will be appearing in court on April 5th. The Prohibited Weapon that Mr. Sim had in his possession was a canister of dog repellant.
