Impaired Driver Arrested Officers with the Sault Ste.
Impaired Driver Arrested
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 49 year-old John Leo Bissiallon of 6 West Street on the 26th of March at 10:48 pm on Dauphin Drive and charged him with one count of impaired driving and one count of fail to provide breath sample. It is alleged that on the 26th of March at approximately 10:30 pm officers received a call regarding an impaired driver in the area of Ashgrove and Dauphin Drive. Officers located the vehicle on Dauphin Drive and when they checked the driver they found him to be impaired. The accused also refused to provide a breath sample. He is to appear in court on the 2nd of May.

Female Arrested for Assault
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 33 year-old Rebecca Trainor of 69 Hiawatha Drive in Garden River on the 25th of March at 2:17 pm at her residence and charged her with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused attended at the residence of a female known to her, got into a verbal argument her and punched her in the face. The accused was on probation at the time of the incident with conditions to keep the peace and be good. She is to attend in court on the 2nd of May.

Female Shoplifter Arrested
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 36 year-old Crystal Harvey of 226 Birch Street (upstairs) on the 26th of March at No Frills and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 26th of March the accused attended at the store and stole a number of items from the store. She is to appear in court on the 2nd of May.

Domestic Related Arrest
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 29 year-old male on the 25th of March at 8:18 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of assault and one count of mischief under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 25th of March the accused assaulted his ex-wife while at an east end residence and also damaged her glasses. The accused is to appear in court on the 18th of May.

Four Vehicle Collision with Injuries on Great Northern Road and Wawanosh Avenue
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a four vehicle collision with injuries on the 25th of March at 1:00 pm on Great Northern Road and Wanwanosh Avenue. It is alleged that a driver of an Infiniti travelling northbound on Great Northern Road failed to stop for the red light at Wanwanosh Avenue causing the four vehicle collision. The driver, of the Infiniti, 59 year-old Beverley Defend of 99 Heath Road was charged with one count of fail to stop for red light under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. Two of the drivers involved received minor injuries as a result of the collision.

Residence Robbery under Investigation
On the 25th of March at approximately 10:14 pm officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a break and enter in progress to a residence on Anderson Road. When officers arrived they discovered that two male and one female suspect had fled from the residence with some items from the home, including an undisclosed amount of cash, a can of bear mace and a vehicle timing chain pant belt with the number 80 buckle in heavy gauge stainless steel.

The home was ransacked and the homeowner and another male at the residence at the time were assaulted during the robbery. As a result, they both received non-life threatening injuries that did not require medical attention. Officers searched the area with negative results. The only description available is that the suspects had bandanas covering their faces. The investigation is ongoing.

Break and Enter Reports
• A residence on Willow Avenue was entered on the morning of the 27th of March. Cash was reported stolen.
• A residence in the 800 block of Goulais Avenue was entered on the 25th of March. A Toshiba Laptop and some jewellery were reported taken.

Theft
• A flatbed Tandem axle flatbed trailer was stolen from a business in the 200 block of Industrial Park Crescent.
