Break, Enter and Breach A 30 year-old male was arrested on the 30th of March at 4:23 am at a west end residence and charged with one count of break, enter and commit and two counts of breach of probation.

A 30 year-old male was arrested on the 30th of March at 4:23 am at a west end residence and charged with one count of break, enter and commit and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 30th of March at approximately 4:13 am the accused broke into his ex-girlfriend’s residence. The victim called 911 and the accused fled. He was located by police a short distance away from the residence and arrested. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions not to attend at the residence of his ex-girlfriend and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Two Females Arrested in Relation to a Stolen Vehicle

Two females were arrested on the 30th of March at 10:15 pm on Cathcart Street in relation to a stolen vehicle.
It is alleged that at approximately 10:10 pm city police received information that the two females had just left a possible stolen vehicle running in the parking lot of the Marconi Hall. Officers attended in the area and the two females were located a short distance away on Cathcart Street. A check of the vehicle confirmed that it was stolen from the Sudbury area.
As a result, 20 year-old Jennifer Wesley of 211 Birch Street, Timmins, Ontario and 30 year-old Angela Saunders of 506 Sherbourne Street were both charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime. Wesley is to appear in bail court this morning and Saunders is to appear in court on the 5th of May.

Two Arrested for Break & Enter

Two persons were arrested on the 30th of March just after 9 pm in relation to a break and enter to a residence on Albert Street East on the 30th of March. It is alleged that on the 30th of March at approximately 8:35 pm city police received information that the owner of the residence was away and that two persons had broke in and were staying there. When officers attended they located a male and female inside the residence. Further investigation revealed that the male accused was known by the owner but had not received permission to be staying at the residence.

As a result, 36 year-old Jody Ekman (male) of no fixed address and 40 year-old Tammy Moore of #11-171B Willow Avenue were both charged with one count of break, enter and commit.
The accused Jody Ekman is to appear in bail court this morning and Moore is to appear in court on the 5th of May.

Domestic Dispute

A 38 year-old male was arrested on the 29th of March at 5:15 pm at his east end residence in relation to a domestic dispute. It is alleged that on the 29th of March at approximately 2:55 am the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend and forced his way in when she denied him entry. It is further alleged that the accused assaulted her and a male friend that was there at the time. Both victims received non-life threatening injuries. The accused was charged with one count of assault and one count of break, enter and commit. He is to appear in court on the 30th of April.

Impaired Driving

1) 66 year-old William Geddes of 182 Old Garden River Road was arrested on the 28th of Mach at 8:15 am on Old Garden River Road and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 28th of March at approximately 7:44 pm the accused was reversed from his driveway and struck the residence across the street. When officers arrived on scene they discovered that the accused was under the influence of alcohol. The homeowner was inside the residence at the time. No injuries were reported. An electrical meter and the corner of the residence received a moderate amount of damage. The vehicle received a moderate amount of damage. The accused is to appear in court on the 12th of May.

2) 38 year-old Darryl Linklater of #-1 142 Allard Street was arrested on the 29th of March at 3:29 am on Crawford Avenue and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit.
It is alleged that on the 29th of March at approximately 3:29 am city police observed a southbound vehicle on Pine Street that was swerving from lane to lane. Officers stopped the vehicle on Crawford Avenue and discovered that the accused was under the influence of alcohol. He is to appear in court on the 12th of May.

3) 24 year-old Christopher Carter of 61 Central Creek Drive was arrested on the 30th of March at 12:30 am on North Street and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 30th of March around midnight the accused was driving his vehicle northbound on North Street when it struck a vehicle from behind that was stopped for a red light at Second Line East. When officers attended at the accident scene, they discovered that the accused was under the influence of alcohol. There were no injuries reported. Both vehicles were moderately damaged. The accused is to appear in court on the 12th of May.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service investigated three reports of break and enters over the weekend.

1. An apartment in the 500 block of Albert St. E. was entered - it is unknown at this time what maws taken.
2. A home in the 100 block of Henrietta Ave was entered late Friday night to early Saturday morning. Thieves stole three shotguns and ransacked the premises.
3. A resident returning home, in the 100 block of Princeton Dr, at 2:30 am on Saturday morning frightened off two suspects in her house. The suspects fled from the residence through backyards with two bottles of whisky.

City police received one report of a mischief this weekend.

A home in the 400 block of Dovercourt Rd. had a window smashed.

City police received three theft reports.

A truck parked in the 100 block of Texas Ave was entered and damaged. The culprits stole a GPS system, small change and damaged the ignition system. Two other vehicles were entered and items were stolen. A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Bay St. was entered and personal papers were stolen. A vehicle parked in the Station Mall was entered - thieves stole a passport and a quantity of CDs.
