DOMESTIC DISPUTE; BOTH ARRESTED A domestic assault that took place on Queen Street East on Saturday morning resulted in both the male and female being arrested and charged.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE; BOTH ARRESTED

A domestic assault that took place on Queen Street East on Saturday morning resulted in both the male and female being arrested and charged. When patrol officers arrived at the scene they found the 2 persons engaged in an argument. The female is charged with assault causing bodily harm after she allegedly bit and scratched the male on the neck, face, chest and arms causing minor cuts to the male.

The male is charged with assault with a weapon, threatening death and breach of probation. The male allegedly struck the female with a stick across her back and then in the presence of police officers threatened to kill the woman. The accused male was also on a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behavior. Both persons will appear in bail court this morning.

OUTSTANDING PROBATION

47 year-old Sandra Lanteinge was arrested on Saturday night for an outstanding probation and parole warrant. The accused is alleged to have breached her probation between May 2003 and January 2004 for which the warrant was issued. Ms. Lanteinge will appear in court on June 14.

2 men were arrested in connection with a break and enter to the Northern Brewery store on Bay Street. William Daigle age 34 of 137 East Street and Terry Weaymouth age 23 of no fixed address are alleged to have thrown a boulder through a window at the Northern Brewery store at approximately 2:49 Sunday morning. The 2 men were apprehended on Albert Street at East Street while in possession of beer from Northern Breweries.

Mr. Daigle will appear in court on June 14th charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property. Mr. Weaymouth will appear in bail court this morning charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property and breach of an undertaking for failing to notify Barrie Police Service of his move to Sault Ste. Marie.

MORE DOMESTIC ASSAULTS ON WEEKEND

A 37 year-old man is charged with assault and will appear in bail court this morning after a domestic dispute on the weekend. The man is alleged to have kicked and punched the victim after he was dropped off at a friend’s house. While the victim tried to leave the accused used a shoe to attempt to break the windshield of the car the victim was driving.

A 49 year-old woman has been arrested and charged with assault following a domestic dispute last evening. The woman is alleged to have slapped and then kicked the victim in the lower body region. The woman will appear in bail court this morning. No injuries were reported.

YOUNG OFFENDERS JUST LIKE TO HEAR MUSIC

2 young offenders were arrested this morning after they allegedly stole CD’s from 2 vehicles parked in the lot of 26 Terry Fox Place. The 2 youth were observed going through the vehicles and had the merchandise in their possession when apprehended by patrol officers this morning. Both young persons are scheduled to appear in court on June 15th.

Opening ceremonies for police week will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday morning by the food court at the Station Mall. There will be over 30 displays for the public to view. They will be on display from Wednesday morning until Friday night
