1) A 28 year old male will appear in bail court this morning charged with criminal harassment and threatening death. It is alleged that the accused had kept contact with his ex-wife but had begun to overly try to communicate with her by making phone calls as well as text messaging. The victim asked the accused to stop which he did not do. The accused continued to harass the victim in the same manner and at one point threatened to “blow her head off”. This occurred on the 08 May 2009.

2) A 48 year old male will appear in court charged with 2 counts of threaten death. It is alleged that the accused threatened to burn down the house of his female partner and also the house of a friend while they were in their homes and he would kill them in that manner. This occurred on the 08 May 2009.

3) A 27 year old female will appear in bail court charged with assaulting her husband. It is alleged that the couple were arguing and it escalated to the female grabbing the male by the throat and scratching both sides of his neck. No medical treatment was required. This occurred on the 09 May 2009.

4) A 17 year old male and a 14 year old female will be in bail court charged with several offences. It is alleged that the accused persons were at a residence on Henrietta and were drinking when they began throwing beer bottles at people. 2 different victims were struck in the head area and required medical treatment (stitches). It is further alleged that they both went after another female a pushed her to the ground. The 14 year old female is charged with 2 counts of assault causing bodily harm, one count of assault and 14 counts of breaching her probation orders. The 17 year old male has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm, one count of assault and four counts of breaching his probation order. This incident occurred on the 08 May 2009.

5) A 39 year old male will appear in bail court this morning charged with a domestic related assault. It is alleged that the accused bit his wife several times on her arms. The victim called police and the accused was arrested. This incident occurred this morning at approx. 02:00 am.

6) A 16 year old male will appear in bail court this morning charged with aggravated assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his girl friend by pouring a pot off hot coffee down the victim’s neck and back. The victim received 2nd and 3rd degree burns to her back and required medical treatment at hospital. This incident occurred on the 09 May 2009 in the early morning hours.

Impaired Driving

31 year old Steven Barry of 524 Goulais Avenue will appear in court on the 22 June charges with impaired operation and consume over the limit. It is alleged that the accused was operating his Chevy Lumina van on Industrial Drive. This occurred on the 10 May 2009 at approx. 02:40 am.

Break and Enters

Police are investigating a break in to a home on Anna Street. Culprit(s) entered the home sometime on the 10 May 2009 and stole money, liquor and a shotgun.

Police are investigating a break in to the Insta Loan located on Second Line west. This occurred on the 10 May 2009 at approx. 02:21 am. The ATM box was taken.

Police were called to a home in the 700 block of Frontenac St. with regards to a break in to a garage. Taken were a Hard Rock pro mountain bike as well as a 2008 Honda CRF dirt bike and a blue and white helmet.

The Beer Store located on Second Line west had the front window smashed and a case of beer taken. This occurred on the 09 May 2009 at approx. 00:28 am.

On the 08 May 2009 a break in was reported to a garage in the 800 block of Second Line west. It is reported that a 4 wheeler was taken

Mischief Complaints

Police received 7 complaints of Mischief to property in the 300 block of Goulais Ave, Asquith St. and East Balfour. It involved persons spray painting cars, trailers, sheds and home with orange spray paint. These occurred in the early morning of the 09 May 2009.

A vehicle parked in a lot in the 100 block of Great Northern Road had its windshield smashed on the 08 May 2009 in the evening hours

A brick was thrown through a window located at St. Mary’s College some time overnight Friday

Thefts

Police received nine reports of stolen bicycles over the weekend. Police would like to remind people to lock up and or store their bikes out of sight.


In many cases the bikes are taken from yards and used as transportation across town and then dumped. It is important for people to record the information about their bikes (serial numbers, make, model, color, frame size). The bikes can also be registered with the police service which would help return bikes that we locate.
