Male Arrested for Sexual Offences on Child

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Investigations Unit arrested a 24 year-old male on the 28th of October at 9:05 am and charged him with one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference. It is alleged that between September 2009 and February 2010 the accused sexually assaulted his common law girlfriend’s son at their home.

Male charged with four counts of theft under $5,000

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 26 year-old Roland Periard of #7-306 Korah Road on the 30th of October on Elizabeth Street and charged him with four counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of break and enter, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of assault, one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of a recognizance order.

It is alleged that on the 30th of October at approximately 2:50 pm the accused attended in a hockey team dressing room at the John Rhodes Centre on Elizabeth Street while the players were on the ice and stole some cash from their belongings. The accused was observed exiting the change room and was apprehended by some of the team’s staff members.

Police were called and learned that the accused also assaulted one of the staff members when he was attempting to flee. He was found in possession of the stolen cash.

The accused was also wanted for two break and enters, one to a local high school from the 20th of September when he allegedly entered an office and stole some cash. The second, to a local business on the 12th of October when he allegedly entered an office, stole a cash box and went through some of the staff’s belongings and stole some of their cash.

At the time the offences the accused was on a recognizance and probation order with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Domestic Related Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 28 year-old male on the 20th of October and charged him with one count of mischief under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 30th of October at approximately 5:10 am the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend and threw rocks at her bedroom window. The window was broken as a result.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 22 year-old Jordon Morrar of 36 Nichol Avenue on the 28th of October at the police station on outstanding warrants. He was charged with one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of a recognizance order.

Female Arrested for Breaching Release Documents

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 53 year-old Gay Overland of 5 Clearview Drive and charged her with two counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 28th of October at 3:24 pm the accused attended at a residence that she was on recognizance order not to attend at, and further she was to be in her place of residence at the time in company of her surety.

Female Arrested for Threatening

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 37 year-old Annette Denis of #211-101 Chapple Avenue on the 28th of October at 11:36 am at her residence an charged her with two counts of threaten death or bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 20th and 25th of October the accused threatened to harm a female known to her. She is to appear in court on the 5th of December.

Shoplifting Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 49 year-old Rose Dallaire of 202 Frontenac Street on the 30th of October at 2:05 pm at Rome’s Independent Grocers and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 30th of October the accused attended at the store and stole some items. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to appear in court on the 5th of December.

Impaired Driving Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 28 year-old Brian Harris of 59 Trelawne Avenue on the 30th of October at 12:16 am on Trunk Road after responding to a single motor vehicle collision on Trunk Road that he was involved in.

It is alleged that when officers arrived they found the driver, the accused, under the influence of alcohol and when he was given the roadside screening device test, he registered a fail. The accused was taken into custody and later refused to provide a breath sample at the police station.

He was subsequently charged with one count of fail to provide a breath sample and is to appear in court on the 5th of December.

Male Arrested for Internal Theft at Place of Employment

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 23 year-old Trevor Matthews of 424 HWY 552 Goulais River Ontario on the 28th of October at 8:25 pm at the police station and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that the accused was wanted for internal thefts from his place of employment on the 22nd of September, the 4th and 30th of October.

The thefts involved the accused filling his personal vehicles with fuel from his place of business. The accused is to appear in court on the 21st of November.
