The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and the City of Sault Ste. Marie continue to receive complaints about drivers ignoring school crossing guards holding stop signs.
It's such a problem that Sault police issued a news release this week, reminding everyone to obey crossing guards near city schools or face serious consequences.
"If you are found disobeying a school crossing stop sign, you can face a fine of $365 and receive four demerit points on your licence," the release warns.
"We all play a part to keep the young people and crossing guards in our community safe. Please, do your part to keep our young people and crossing guards safe."
