Over $55K in drugs seized during arrest

Sault Ste. Marie Police say they seized 367 grams of suspected fentanyl, approximately six grams of suspected cocaine, $305 in Canadian currency, drug packaging materials and a scale with suspected drug residue during a Friday arrest

Sault Ste. Marie Police seized thousands of dollars worth of illegal drugs during an arrest late Friday.

At around 10 p.m. on Dec. 6, officers patrolling Wellington Street West spotted someone who they recognized as being wanted.

“A subsequent search of the accused found them to be in possession of approximately 367 grams of suspected fentanyl, approximately six grams of suspected cocaine, $305 in Canadian currency, drug packaging materials, and a scale with suspected drug residue,” police alleged in a news release.

“The total estimated street value of drugs seized is $55,650.”

Daniel Lepage, 36, has been charged with: 

  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5,000
  • Failure to Attend Court After Having Appeared

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
