Sault Ste. Marie Police say they seized weapons during a weekend arrest.
Police responded to a disturbance Saturday in the 600 block of Trunk Road.
Arriving officers already had an arrest warrant for a suspect they found inside a vehicle.
“A search of the accused and their vehicle located a machete, pocketknife, brass knuckles, and conducted energy weapon,” said police in a news release.
Isaac Boissoneau, 26, of Garden River First Nation has been charged with:
- Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court x3
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon x2
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Prohibited or Restricted Weapon x2
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x3
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon x2
- Driver Fail to Surrender Licence (under the Highway Traffic Act)
- Fail to Surrender Insurance Card (under the Highway Traffic Act)
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
