Yesterday a 34-year-old man was charged after someone called police 27 times and pushed an officer.

The calls came in from 10:55 p.m. on May 18 to 4:30 a.m. on May 19.

Despite officers being dispatched to the accused’s location and warning him to stop calling if there is not an emergency, the man continued to call police, a news release said.

At around 5:00 a.m., officers attended the accused’s location again. The accused was uncooperative, resisted arrest, and pushed an officer.

Officers arrested Kenneth Watts, charging him with:

  • Assault Peace Officer
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order
  • Harassing Communications
  • Mischief – Interfere with Lawful Use, Enjoyment, or Operation of Property
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 14. None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
