Police have charged Marc Pineault with impaired driving after officers responded to a report of an erratic driver on Pine Street on Saturday evening.
A news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that the 68-year-old accused failed two breath tests following his arrest.

On Oct. 30, 2021, officers charged 68-year-old Marc Pineault with impaired driving – blood alcohol concentration (80+).
Around 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically in the 700 block of Pine Street. Upon arrival, officers observed a man, later identified as the accused, getting into the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle with the engine running.
Upon speaking with the accused, officers developed grounds to believe his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and later provided two breathe samples into an approved device, registering two fail results.
He is charged with impaired driving – blood alcohol concentration (80+). He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 20, 2021.
