THE BEARS ARE STILL WITH US This morning, just shortly after 7:00, police were called to a Fort Creek residence near the Finnish Rest Home where a bear was destroying bird feeders and other yard furniture.

This morning, just shortly after 7:00, police were called to a Fort Creek residence near the Finnish Rest Home where a bear was destroying bird feeders and other yard furniture.
Damage was light, there were no injuries and the bear took off

Three persons were arrested last night. Two for being intoxicated in a public place and one on an outstanding warrant. Police report a quiet twenty-four hours.


ELDERLY WOMAN DEFAUDED
On Wednesday, July 17, an elderly woman was defrauded of a large amount of money. A male suspect, posing as a bank inspector, contacted the victim and instructed her to meet him at the bank, withdraw the funds, and turn the cash over to him.

The suspect explained that his investigation involved an internal theft at the bank by an employee. The suspect knew the victim's bank account number and other account details. The thief is described as Caucasian, 50 to 60 years of age, white hair, heavy build, wearing a beige suit coat. If you have info
