Police report an extremely quiet period overnight. There was even a significant decrease in calls that would be considered routine.


MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION
Yesterday at 1:06 p.m., a 48-year-old male in a motorized wheelchair was crossing Tilley Road while southbound on Great Northern Road. A tow truck operated by a 72-year-old male was exiting Tilley Road to go southbound on Great Northern Road.

As he was making the right turn, he struck the wheelchair knocking it over and causing the occupant to strike his head on the pavement.

The wheelchair operator was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. At 8:30 this morning, police received a report that the man remains in critical condition.

Names are being withheld pending completion of the investigation by the Traffic Services Department at Sault City Police.
