QUIET NIGHT AT POLICE STATION
Your City police Service had a fairly quiet twenty-four hours. There were five arrests, all of a minor nature.


FIRE TRUCKS SENT TO SUPER 8 HOTEL
The City Fire department was called to the Super 8 Hotel just after noon yesterday. Several fire vehicles converged on the hotel that was formerly the Caswell. Several candles were in a glass container that broke. That set off the fire alarm. There was no damage and firefighters left the scene after ½ hour.

Then, just before 11:00 last night, firefighters were called back to the same hotel. This time it was a false alarm.
