One person has been charged after allegedly attempting to enter the Sault Ste. Marie Courthouse with around 23 grams of methamphetamine, Sault police say.
On Feb. 3, at around 3:20 p.m., 27-year-old Greg Boissoneau was searched while trying to enter the courthouse.
Police allege that 23.47 grams of methamphetamine, with a street value of $2,347, were found and seized by officers with Court Services, with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Unit, special constables, and security officers.
Boissoneau has been charged with possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused has been released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on March 31, 2025, police said.
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
