Suspected fentanyl and meth seized during arrest

One person is facing drug trafficking charges

Sault Ste. Marie Police seized $4,422 in suspected illegal drugs during an arrest earlier this week.

Officers arrived at the 0-100 block of Albion Street at around 2:20 p.m. on Monday to make an arrest after they say a suspect failed to show up in court.

Police say when they searched the accused, they found approximately 29.32 grams of suspected fentanyl and approximately 0.24 grams of suspected methamphetamine. 

John Reedy, 47, has been charged with:

  • Failure to Attend Court After Having Appeared
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine)

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
