Suspicious Male Downtown Last evening around 9:20 pm City Police received a call regarding a male that was carrying a 2x4 piece of wood acting suspiciously in the area of East Street near Bay Street.

Last evening around 9:20 pm City Police received a call regarding a male that was carrying a 2x4 piece of wood acting suspiciously in the area of East Street near Bay Street. When City Police checked the male they discovered that he was wanted on warrants for failing to appear court on charges of theft under and resist or obstruct a peace officer back in November and March. Officers further discovered that the male was on court release conditions to notify his change of address and had since moved and did not notify city police of the change. .
The accused, 42 year-old Douglas Boston of 682 Bay Street (main floor) is charged with two counts of fail to appear court and one count of breach of a release document.
The accused is to appear in court bail court this morning.

Impaired Driver

36 year-old Franklin McKay of 56 Fred Sylvestre Road in Stouville Ontario was arrested on the 15th of August just after 8 pm in the area George Street and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of fail to provide breath or blood sample. It is alleged that on the 15th of August around 7:36 pm the accused was observed by witnesses driving a Chev Impala erratically on Carmen’s Way. The vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign at Queen Street West, struck a curb and went off the roadway onto the embankment. It is further alleged that the accused ran from the vehicle and was later located by the City Police Canine Unit in the bush area on George Street. The accused was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for impaired driving. The accused refused to provide a breath sample at the police station.
The vehicle sustained minor damage.
The accused is to appear in court on the 24th of September.

Mischief Under $5,000

A 24 year-old male was arrested on the 15th of August around 2:09 pm on Andrew Street and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000.00. It is alleged that the accused attended at his girlfriend’s east-end residence, got into an argument with her and kicked a hole in the wall. He is to appear in court on the 26th of September.

The following mischief reports were taken yesterday and overnight:

1) Bottles were broken and chairs were damaged on the property at the Red Cross on Allard Street sometime overnight on the 15th of August.

2) Three windows were broken at the Finnish Ski Club on Landslide Road sometime on the 15th of August.

3) On the 16th of August around 1:00 am a window was broken and a small amount of garbage in the trash bin was set on fire at the back of St. Mark School on Hugill Street

There were a number of break and enters reported yesterday from overnight.

1. Thieves attempted to break into a home in the 500 block of Shannon Rd. Entry was not gained and nothing was taken.

2. A home in the 100 block of Pardee Avenue was broke into overnight. It is not known what was taken at this time.

3. A number of CD’s were stolen in a break and enter which occurred at a home in the 100 block of Queen Street East.

4. A residence in the 100 bock of Wilding Avenue was broken into yesterday between 5:30 pm and 7:20 pm. A Coors bag, jewelry and a DVD player were taken.

5. A second home in the 100 block of Wilding Avenue was broken into between 2am and 7pm. It is not known what was taken at this time.
