MURDER SUSPECT APREHENDED IN THE SAULT Shortly after 6:00 pm last evening the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was advised by the Winnipeg Police Service that a male suspect in a homicide they were investigating was possibly enroute to Sault Ste.
MURDER SUSPECT APREHENDED IN THE SAULT
Shortly after 6:00 pm last evening the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was advised by the Winnipeg Police Service that a male suspect in a homicide they were investigating was possibly enroute to Sault Ste. Marie via Greyhound bus.

A description of the suspect, along with a photograph, was forwarded to the Sault Police by investigators in Winnipeg. Patrol officers went to the Greyhound bus terminal on Brock St. at 6:30 pm.

They began searching an eastbound bus that had already arrived from Winnipeg, along with the bus terminal area. During this search, a second eastbound bus from Winnipeg arrived and disembarked passengers.

Officers located a male fitting the description of the suspect wanted by Winnipeg Police in the parking lot of Tim Horton's, adjacent to the bus terminal. He identified himself to officers with an alias of Donavan Smith.

Officers positively identified Smith as being Tomas Santiago McEvoy, age 24, of 50 Meadowgate Drive, Winnipeg,
