Impaired Driver Arrested 38 year-old Ernest Skinner of #201-344 Dacey Road was arrested on the 14th of January at 2:05 am on Black Road and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit.

38 year-old Ernest Skinner of #201-344 Dacey Road was arrested on the 14th of January at 2:05 am on Black Road and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 14th of January city police made a vehicle stop in the parking lot of an east end bar and at the time, they found the driver, the accused, to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused is to appear in court on the 22nd of February.

Male found in Possession of Stolen Vehicle Arrested

26 year-old Abel Moore of #3-427 Wellington Street East was arrested on the 13th of January at 1 pm at Pawating Place and charged with one count of possession of stolen property and one count theft over $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 13th of January between 12:00 am and 12:30 pm the accused stole a 2004 GMC Envy on from a residence on Breton Road. At 12:57 pm on the same date, the accused was found in possession of the stolen vehicle at Pawating Place. He is to appear in court on the 22nd of February.

Two Shoplifters Arrested

60 year-old Pamela Wishart of 114 Lansdowne Avenue was arrested on the 13th of January at 5:30 pm at Rome’s Independent Grocers and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 13th of January around 5 pm the accused attended at the store and stole a tube of cold sore cream. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to appear in court on the 22nd of February.

A 14 year-old male youth was arrested don the 13th of January at 3:40 pm at Sears in the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that he attended the store on the 13th of January at 3:30 pm and stole four Nintendo Wii games. He was apprehended by security and held for police. He is to appear in court on the 16th of February.

Attempt Break and Enter

There was an attempt break and enter reported to the Golf Maintenance Shop at the Sault Country Club.

Theft Reports

Vehicles were reported entered on Fifth Line East, Vesta Place, Farwell Terrace, Wellington Street East and Ferguson Avenue. Items stolen included, wallets, vehicle stereos, lose change and a car manual.

City Police Investigate Three Motor Vehicle Collisions with Injuries

At 9:30 am on the 13th of January police were called to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Bay Street and Dennis Street. It is alleged that driver of a Chrysler vehicle that was travelling eastbound on Bay Street failed to stop for the red light at the intersection of Dennis Street resulting in a collision with a Honda that was southbound on Dennis Street. The driver of the Chrysler, 33 year-old Jonathan Ross of 442 Korah Road was charged with one count of fail to stop for red light under the Highway Traffic Act. A passenger in the Chrysler and the driver of the Honda, both female adults, were transported to the hospital by ambulance for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both vehciles were severely damaged.

At 10:50 am on The 13th of January city police were called to a motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Gore Street and Albert Street East. It is alleged that the driver of a vehicle that was proceeding eastbound on Albert Street East failed to stop for the red light and struck a vehicle that was northbound on Gore Street. The driver, 29 year-old Joseph Solomon of 110 East Balfour Street was charged with one count of fail to stop for red light under the Highway Traffic Act. A female passenger in his vehicle and the male driver of the vehicle struck were both transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

At 3:53 pm city police attended at a motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Pine Street at Wellington Street East. It is alleged that the driver of a Dodge pickup that was travelling on Wellington Street East turned left in front of a Chrysler vehicle that was northbound on Pine Street. The driver of the pickup, 60 year-old Brenda Koivisto of L4,C4 Johnson Tp. in Desbarats, Ontario was charged with one count of left turn- fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collision under the Highway Traffic Act. Both female drivers were transported to hospital by ambulance for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
