MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER
Yesterday at 8:00 pm, members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Investigative Unit and Patrol Services went to an address in the 300 block of Pim St. and arrested Christopher Daynard, age 25, of 111 MacDonald Avenue.

He was charged with four counts of attempted murder, one count of threatening, one charge of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

These charges stem from an incident that took place on December 26th at 2:10 am near the intersection of Queen St and Gore St.

It is alleged that the accused threatened to kill a female known to him. The accused then waited for her outside a bar. When she got into a vehicle to leave, he allegedly pulled out a shotgun from under his clothing and fired at the vehicle as it drove by him. At the time of the shooting there were four occupants in the vehicle. The accused then fled the scene. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

Daynard will be appearing in court at 1:30 pm today. The weapon involved in this case has not yet been located. The Investigative Services Unit is continuing their investigation.

AUTOS ENTERED
Two vehicles were reported entered overnight. One in the 100 block of Terry Fox Place and another in the 200 block of Great Northern Rd. It is not known what was taken from either of these two autos.
