Domestic Related Arrest:
The only bail court arrest entry is a 52 year-old male arrested on the 30th of July at 11:02 am on Queen Street East regarding a domestic related incident. He was charged with one count of breach of a release document for attending at his wife’s residence yesterday afternoon and harassing her by yelling at her, calling her names and checking her computer. At the time of the incident he was on an undertaking release order not to harass her.
Three Shoplifters Arrested Yesterday:
1) 52 year-old Angelo Stortini of #218-101 Chapple Street was arrested on the 30th of July at 2:40 pm at the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 30th of July around 2 pm the accused attended at Zellers in the Station Mall and stole a bottle of mouth wash. He was arrested by store security and held for police. He is to appear in court on the 8th of September.
2) 45 year-old Elizabeth Laforge of #53-1001 Second Line West was arrested on the 30th of July at 2:30 at Joe’s No Frills on Korah Road and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused attended at No Frills and stole items valued at $23.15. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to appear in court on the 8th of September.
3) 35 year-old Gray Latvanen of 13 Euclid Road was arrested on the 30th of July at 2:25 pm at his residence on outstanding charges and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 and one count of disguise with intent. It is alleged that on the 4th of July around 5 am the accused attended at the A & P store on Churchill Boulevard wearing a ball cap and wig and stole some meat items. A store employee confronted the accused and a struggle ensued that resulted in the wig being removed from the accused. The accused fled on foot from the store with approximately $300.00 of meat items inside a packsack. Further investigation was conducted and the accused was identified. He is to appear in court on the 8th of September.
Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant:
31 year-old Timothy Hewitt of #205-588 Albert Street West was arrested yesterday morning around 10:30 am at his residence on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime. He is to appear in court on the 8th of September.
Youth Charged with Mischief:
A 16 year-old male youth was arrested on the 30th of July at 1:15 pm at a local Youth Home and charged with one count of mischief and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused smashed a window at the home when he punched it. At the time of the offence he was on conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is to appear in court on the 9th of September.
Motor Vehicle Collision results in one Male Driver Being Charged:
City police attended at a motor vehicle collision yesterday morning at 9:18 am on Second Line East that occurred at the Wal-Mart entrance. It is alleged that the driver of a Dodge Caravan that was westbound on Second Line East attempted to turn right into the Wal-Mart entrance from the inside lane cutting off a McDougall Fuels truck that was westbound in the curb lane. The truck was unable to stop and collided with the van.
There were no injuries reported in the collision.
The driver of the van 66 year-old Roland Boudreau of 136 Walnut Street was charged with one count of turn not in safety under the Highway Traffic Act.
Three break and enters reported yesterday:
1) A residence on Queen Street West was entered sometime overnight on the 29th-30th of July. A laptop was reported stolen.
2) A residence on Pleasant Drive was entered sometime from the 28th of July after 7 pm and the 30th of July. A Mac computer and printer were reported stolen.
3) A residence on Albion Street was entered sometime yesterday morning. A computer was reported stolen.
Thefts Reported Yesterday:
Bikes were stolen from two businesses on Bay Street.
Vehicles were entered on Peoples Road and Amber Street. Keys and some change were reported stolen.
