The following persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

1) 51 year-old Leonard Rowsell of 222 Albert Street East was arrested on the 16th of May on Queen Street East and charged with two counts of break, enter and commit and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that on the 16th of May between midnight and 3:30 am the accused broke into the Uppercase Book Store at 508 Queen Street East and stole a pentax digital camera and some change from the till. The accused then broke into the business next door, the Loon’s Nest which is located at 474 Queen Street East and stole a small amount of money from the till and some godiva chocolate bars. It is alleged that the accused left behind some of his personal identification inside one of the businesses.

Investigating officers searched for the accused throuout the morning and located him at 12:35 pm walking into a bar on Queen Street East. When the accused was arrested he was found in possession of cash and change, the pentax digital camera and 3 godiva chocolate bars that were reported stolen from the businesses.

Several persons were arrested yesterday on outstanding warrants:

1) 31 year-old Emily Yeoman’s of 261 St. James Street was arrested on St. James Street yesterday afternoon on several outstanding warrants. She has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and four counts of breach of release orders.

2) 26 year-old Courtney Cartmill of 134B Gore Street was arrested and charged with one count of breach of a release order by failing to appear court.

3) 18 year-old Cameron McDonald of #7-109 Carufel Avenue was arrested at the city police station and charged with three counts of breach of release orders, one count of theft under $5,000 and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

Youth Disturbance
On the 16th of May just before 10 pm city police were called to the rear of 320 Pim Street for the sound of glass being broken and several youths causing a disturbance there. Upon police arrival two persons fled the scene. With assistance of the canine unit the two were tracked and located behind a residence on Summit Avenue and arrested.

1) 18 year- old Victoria Petts of 470 Charles Street is charged with one count of obstruct police and mischief under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused damaged property at 320 Pim Street and when police were dealing with her she falsely identified herself. She is to appear in court on the 18th of June.

2) A 16 year old youth was arrested for one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and two counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that when this youth was arrested he was found in possession of approximately 4 grams of marihuana with a street value of approximately $80.00. At the time of this incident the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Break & Enter

There was a break and enter reported at the Show Stoppers Rental Centre on Queen Street East. The business was entered sometime overnight on the 16th of May. A gift basket and chocolate were stolen.
